As I was recently asked about the upcoming trend for in-game adverts, here’s what I thought then and what I still think now:

Yes, in game ads are going to be big business. It’s inevitable and gamers will have to get used to it.

However, it’s also inevitable that they’ll be hacked. Just as NoCD patches exists for most games these days, so will NoAD patches.

Oh, and if I create a MoD with your engine, there go your ads, so I’m sure that we’ll start seeing less no-strings-attached MOD creation as a result of this. Which, of course, is the most worrying outcome.
