Another games related Slashdot story, just another day?

Not so, since the number of people who are suggesting SDL as the way to go away learning to write games is quite surprising. Cross platform, open source and ahead in terms of mindshare? I’m impressed. Maybe when I get through with writing Flash games I’ll return to some SDL stuff. Although secretly I want to use the Torque engine and the PopCap framework.
